first_img Game of Thrones’ last season is coming in April, and HBO’s latest teaser hinted a very bleak ending for the Stark family. On Sunday, HBO posted a new Game of Thrones Season 8 video on the show’s YouTube account. The trailer, which showed the Stark children walking through the crypts of Winterfell, revealed that Game of Thrones will return to HBO on April 14.The beginning of the trailer is spooky, because it shows Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, and Arya Stark roaming through an underground cemetery for their family. In the trailer, they pass by the tombs of Lyanna Stark and Ned Stark, and hear their voices. When Jon walks by, Lyanna whispers, “You have to protect him.” A feather also falls from her statue’s hand. When Sansa glances at Lyanna’s statue, Lyanna’s voice says, “All this horror that has come to my family.” Then, the camera focuses on Arya, and we also hear Lyanna’s voice say, “It’s all because I couldn’t love a motherless child.”Jon eventually passes Ned Stark’s statue, and Ned’s voice says, “You are a Stark. You might not have my name, but you have my blood.” (All the chills here.)Finally all three children meet and proceed further into the crypt. At the end of the hall, they discover a bleak surprise: Their are statues of each of them in the crypt, hinting that death is around the corner.Photo Credit: Game of Thrones/YouTubeBefore we have a moment to process all of this, Jon’s torch blows out and an eerie chill occupies the crypts. Catelyn’s feather freezes over, and there’s a massive cold front coming for the Starks. Each have their swords drawn, and of course HBO cuts the trailer there. Will the Starks somehow make it through the White Walker invasion? Will they die and come back to life as creatures themselves? We’ll have to wait for more Game of Thrones Season 8 details to find out.More on Geek.com:‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Footage Teases New AllianceNew ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Teaser Will Chill You to the Bone‘Game of Thrones’ Is Coming Back to HBO in April 2019 ‘Game of Thrones’ Director Explains Why Arya Ambushed the Night King’Game of Thrones’ Star Sophie Turner Predicts Sansa Stark’s Future Stay on targetlast_img
