Construction of a 70,000-foot STEM facility has impacted parking and pedestrian access to the west part of the Clark College campus. See the map for details.See detailed construction information at www.clarkcollegefoundation.org/construction.Construction crews from Skanska arrived at Clark College on Wednesday morning with heavy equipment and started preparation for a new science, technology, engineering and mathematics facility on a campus west of Fort Vancouver Way. The site formerly was a parking lot for the Clark College Foundation.Crews bulldozed trees, began moving earth and built a construction fence around the entire site along East Fourth Plain Boulevard and Fort Vancouver Way. Construction fencing and equipment have affected vehicle and pedestrian access to the foundation office. The parking lot between the foundation and the T building has been eliminated. Foundation visitors can use two parking spaces on Fourth Plain. All foot traffic to the foundation is accessible only from Fourth Plain. Walkers who previously cut through the woods on Fourth Plain to access the campus will not be able to do so, but must walk up Fort Vancouver Way. Bus riders coming to campus should not get off on Fourth Plain, but come up to Fort Vancouver Way.
