This is the conclusion of a complex case which initially saw Apple sue Samsung, alleging it stole elements of the iPhone, such as screen bounceback, multi-touch, zoom and navigation features. Samsung then countersued, saying it was legally giving its customers what they wanted when it released devices which were similar to the iPhone in appearance. A reporter in the courtroom for the final verdict called it “a bloodbath for Samsung.” An appeal is expected. Some financial analysts say the verdict could push Apple stock even higher, after the company’s shares hit an all-time high earlier this week. It closed out Friday trade at $663.22 U.S. per share. Apple and Samsung combine to count for half of all smartphone sales across the globe, the former being the world’s most valuable company of all time. apple|damages|patent infringements|samsung|sue
